Producing Your 1st YouTube Video

Getting a video on YouTube

Producing Your 1st YouTube Video (Tutorial)

This heavyweight online streaming service first hit the information superhighway back in 2005, at the time it was simply a video entertainment source. Some may still think of it that way, but today, YouTube can a super-weapon in your internet marketing efforts!

But why is it so popular with modern day digital marketers?

First off the bat, and probably one of the most important points – is that it is completely FREE to use!

On top of this, it offers impressive analytics so that you can track your video marketing works and dig right down into what uploaded information is bringing out the best results (Google owns YouTube so as you can imagine – their analytics setup is EXTREMELY impressive!).

But the main power of YouTube, is the audience…

Not as many companies have dipped their respective toes into video-marketing, compared to most forms of social networking, and millions upon millions of people use YouTube on a daily basis.

What does this mean?

Well, simply put – Bigger pond, less fish.

I also think it’s important to touch upon the re-purposing option that YouTube gives you – old content can be brought back to life by using a simple video marketing angle.

Re-purposing content you have already created is an effective form of content marketing, as you can reach an audience that will love that particular type of content.

For example – ANY blog post or article on this website, can be easily be re-purposed and made into a video, with very little outlay, then published on YouTube. This approach is letting you create two marketing routes from just one piece of content…

Pretty awesome, right?

  1. I think you’ve made a very interesting point on re-purposing your blog posts into new videos. It certainly does sound like a great deal to get 2 marketing channels from one !

I personally do have my own blog but I’m just not sure about making videos. I’m actually kind of shy to go on camera or voice my own videos, do you have a way around this or some advice to start making videos?

    1. You don’t really have to go on camera Lucas – I always used to use images below my commentary, and cut and paste the commentary to make sure there are no mumbles etc. (and I’ve got a Welsh accent!!!!)

  2. Me and my wife wants to do Youtube videos, but no idea where to begin, we were already looking for tutorials, but some are so hard to understand.

This one is easy and will guide is very good.

24 TB of data every 24h is really amazing, it shows good how this is.

Thanks for sharing, we are going to make our firsr video!

  4. Hey there! Thanks for this resource that shows me how to add YouTube to my business. I have been working on creating more videos and it has really helped. I agree that Jay’s training is very good. Its also clear and easy to follow. Do you have a link to this video? I can’t seem to find it at the bottom of this post.

  5. Personally I have been seeing YouTube as a far fetched dream for me.  I have always wanted to upload photos but have never been so clear about it.  Your tutorial is excellent and an easy way to understand, I am gonna try the techniques  soon.  What other marketing strategies would you advise in addition to uploading photos on YouTube? Especially for a newbie in online residual income?

    1. Hi Emmy,

You really should watch through the video again but this time have a notepad and pen handy – take notes! Everything you need to know about getting a video up onto YouTube is covered in it.

  6. This is what I’m looking for! I have a blog site and planning to reach audience even more. And, I don’t want to produce new idea on creating videos. Thanks for this post, I can just use my current blog post to create a video. This article really give me a good idea how to create my first Youtube video. Thank you so much 🙂

    1. That’s right Amer – if you already have articles, simply transcribe them into a video and BANG – away you go with your new YouTube career!!! 🙂

  7. That looks like a good tutorial. I’m aware of the importance and benefits of YouTube. But always postpone to start making my first video there.

What do you think about videos that do not show a person’s face? You know, those with cartoon illustration. Are they good ideas and a good start for beginners?

One more thing, should I focus on my blog first or should I just start making videos from the beginning?

    Thanks for sharing!
