My Primerica Account – Worth My Email Address?

My Primerica Account - Worth My Email Address?

I’ve never really looked into life insurance or writing a will as I’m one of those superstitious types. I feel that by jumping on that bandwagon I may be tempting fate ( of course, I may be tempting fate by NOT getting on the bandwagon… ).

Last summer ( June to be exact ) I hit the tender old age of 40…and I ain’t that pleased with that fact!

But reaching this age, and having two young sons, tends to put certain things into perspective really.

So over the past few months I have been taking more notice than usual of the various insurance opportunities online…and I stumbled upon a linked work opportunity named Primerica.

So that brings us to the review we have here today – is my Primerica account worthwhile or is it YET ANOTHER useless MLM membership?

Let’s take a closer look…

The Primerica Review

I was surprised to find that this particular insurance company stretched back as far as the 1970’s…and at one time it pretty much rocked the industry!

A dude named A. L. Williams sorted out the company and got a load of associates on board.

They made their money by sort of twisting people’s arms towards term policies of life insurance ( as opposed to the complete life insurance gig! ).

At the time of writing this they offer the following products/services:

  • Financial Needs Analysis
  • Investments
  • Auto & Home Insurance
  • Long Term Care Insurance
  • Primerica DebtWatchers
  • Pre-Paid Legal Services

If you’re anything like me you’ll have no real idea what most of these services entail but don’t worry – you don’t really have to know much about them to get through this review ( I promise! ).

Make Money With Primerica

Okay, let’s get into the guts of this earning opportunity!!!

Well I’ll start off by dashing all of your hopes by admitting that this is nothing more than yet another MLM scheme.

Most regulars to this site will know how I feel about them!

It may be dressed up differently and they may be trying to take on things from a new angle but believe me – this is MLM all over!

Make Money With Primerica

If you want to make money with Primerica you have to take on their 11-level upline system that centers itself around you drawing in new recruits.

But Primerica seems to be pretty old school about it’s MLM exploits – which was a BIG surprise to me!

You have to invite recruits to these nasty old meetings where someone who obviously has too much to say, bombards you with hype for 2 hours.

At the end of this bullsh..sorry…speech you’ll be clawing at the walls to sign up with this awesome once in a lifetime opportunity!

Will the price put you off?

Surely not!

Who would turn their nose up at a $99 entry fee on top of $25 a month for the online system?

There is a degree of sarcasm thrown into that last statement ( in case you missed it! ).

So it’s a pretty expensive gig right? But it doesn’t stop there…

I noticed a small print section that seemed to indicate that I should really consider taking on a form of Primerica life insurance for myself!

Apparently it’s going to be a lot easier to sell the insurance if you have that form of insurance yourself…

Do You Make Money With Primerica?

So, do you make money with Primerica or are you going to wish you’d never set eyes on their website?

Let’s not beat around the bush here – I’m pretty sure there are thousands of people out there that have made money with them…but I’m also pretty sure there are millions who haven’t!

A little bit of online research brought more than a few complaints out of the darkness…

First off – the majority of Primerica reps out there seem to be scum at best ( I’m pretty sure that last remark is going to get me into some kinda trouble somewhere down the line! ).

They are trained in the art of BS and unrealistic promises of untold wealth – it’s how they drag you in.

There are numerous reports of poor individuals who have been dragged into this promise only to end up with BIG losses.

Do You Make Money With Primerica

I also came across a complete landslide of complaints involving the products and services Primerica offer – apparently they aren’t all that after all!

These days there are so many online insurance companies chomping at the bit it’s near enough impossible to stay on top – and Primerica haven’t managed to!

Apparently there are many insurance choices that now offer deals that are 20% to 50% less expensive than good old Primerica…

How are you gonna sell that to your customers?

I also noticed that Primerica want to keep their claws in you for as long as possible – and this included the websites you do your business from.

Simply put – you have to use one of their websites on their servers!

I think that 99% of intelligent internet marketers would walk away at this point!

It probably wouldn’t be that bad if these websites on offer were free…but they are not!

That’s right, to keep your little website housed on their server you will have to fork out a healthy $25 a month – the price just keeps rising and rising…

Is Primerica a Scam or Not?

A super-tricky question to answer this one…and I’m not sure how to put it into words!

The company has been going for a long, long time now and I don’t really think I can point the ‘scam finger’ because of that.

This is an awful MLM setup and ANYTHING MLM needs to be put out with the trash pronto!

I suppose it all comes down to what sort of person you are – can you sell products or services you are not 100% behind?

Personally I wouldn’t go anywhere near this opportunity nor would I promote it in any way ( as you can probably tell by the review I just published! ).

  1. Hi Chris,

Thanks for this article, it’s really informative. I actually hadn’t heard of Primerica before reading your review, but as with most things of this nature on the internet, I wasn’t surprised to find it’s sort of scammy. It’s really good to know though, because sometimes it really takes a lot of digging, analysis, and first hand experience to get all the information needed to come to that decision.

Thanks again, I hope anyone who’s thinking of using Primerica has a look at your site before taking the plunge.

    All the best,

    1. Cheers Katia, glad to hear that you took something from the review! Thanks for taking the time to leave your opinion on the subject. 🙂

  2. I pretty much feel the same as you about being superstitious. It’s a big reason why I haven’t bought into insurance, and I’m in my 50’s! I had a hunch about Primemerica. Your article was very interesting and put it into perspective. Do you recommend any other company for Life Insurance that is legit?

    1. Oh man I really wouldn’t be able to! As I said, I’m not really that much of an authority on insurance ( and that’s an understatement! )

  3. I have never heard of Primerica on my side of the Globe. It’s a relief that somehow it is not making it here. Nonetheless, scam artist may just disguise it in another form to lure people into joining. Especially when suspected scam scheme is linked with insurance or anything legit, it is going to fool a lot of people. Thank you for sharing!

  4. I have been a client for 20 years. A Representative for 45 days. The Securities investments and my portfolio have done amazing during my 20 years. It was only time that stopped me from joining in 1997. Fantastic Company with awards including a top 50 most trustworthy companies by Forbes August of 2015. The Financial Needs Analysis they provide free is amazing too.

    1. Okay Mike…
Thanks for leaving your opinion with us but why have you made it sound like a sales pitch? I’m kinda hoping you are not an employee – but I’ll certainly give you the benefit of the doubt!
