The American Consumer Opinion Review

What is American Consumer Opinion?

Simply put – American Consumer Opinion is yet another market research website that gathers information off it’s members through the survey format.

Most of these surveys cover various consumer products and services.

It comes under the umbrella of a larger market research company named Decision Giant Corporation, which is run by Romeo Sanchez.

The American Consumer Opinion Review

Product and service owners use American Consumer Opinion to find out what the public think about their products/services – they use their members, who fit a certain criteria, by asking them questions through the survey format.

These members are then paid by American Consumer Opinion when they complete the survey.

At the time of writing this – it’s a free service.

All you need to sign up is a legit email address and to be over the age of 14. You will also have to complete a short questionnaire so that they can match you with the correct surveys when you start working with them.

American Consumer Opinion Survey Earnings

Most of the surveys on offer fall into the 10 to 20 minute category – these will pay out anywhere between 5 and 50 points (and each point is worth $0.01).

The more ‘specialized’ surveys, which go over 20 minutes, can reward you with anywhere between 100 and 5000 points.

What is American Consumer Opinion?

You will need to have racked up over 1000 points in your balance before you can apply for a cashout (it’s set at a $10 minimum!).

These 1000 points can be paid out in the form of regular Paypal money, HyperWallet money, sweepstake tickets OR you can even donate it to charity!

Unfortunately American Consumer Opinion seem to take a LONG time to sort out the legit earnings of their members. In some cases I’ve heard people have had to wait up to two months before they actually receive their points in their balance.

Now, I know this is down to the site’s security – and that’s fine…

But an 8 week wait for your reward?

Not cool, not cool at all!

There’s only ONE program I really recommend. It helped me turn my hobby’ into a $10,000+ per month money making machine. Click here for the exact formula I followed

The Trust Factor

American Consumer Opinion are listed by the Better Business Bureau, well their parent company, Decision Giant Corporation is anyway (They have been handed an overall rating of A-).

The company has also been in business since 1996 which is an excellent indication of how effective they are overall.

American Consumer Opinion Complaints

As with most work online companies – there are a small handful of complaints linked to American Consumer Opinion.

A lot of past members seem to be pissed by the amount of surveys they were offered once they were accepted into the service.

Once you start the surveys you ideally want an endless supply of work so that you can keep on racking up the points…but that idea is cut down by the strict demographic parameters put in place!

Apparently there are not that many surveys on offer…and the ones which are available are hard to qualify for!

I’ve also encountered a fair amount of past members who have had to wait a LONG time for their payment to arrive. I didn’t request a payout myself, so I can’t be sure on this…but I have heard members stating they’ve had to wait over 2 months for their rewards!

American Consumer Opinion Legit?

Well, it’s been around since 1996, so it’s definitely a legit setup (scam companies would NEVER last this long!).

The key to a market research website being effective for it’s workers is the amount of ‘work’ on offer – and I get the feeling that American Consumer Opinion is a little threadbare with the work available!

It seems to be a decent enough place to earn a little extra every month – but I certainly wouldn’t give up my day job to take this kind of work on…

  1. Great review. I’ve heard of doing survey’s for extra money, but it’s a little too good to be true scenario. Yep, it seems legit, but it also seems that amount of work necessary to support the members is a bit difficult. I’m not  a fan of signing up for programs, but then not be able to engage with it to make money. Thanks for the details, keep up the reviews.

    1. Hi JB,

No the survey route isn’t for everyone, and it is hard to make good money with them at the end of the day. They are more aimed at giving their members extra ‘pocket money’ really.

  2. Before discovering this website, I didn’t even know American Consumer Opinion existed. I have used other survey programs in the past, but having a program that offers a $4 payment for a survey is really substantial! The most I have seen previously is only $3.50. If you’re someone who likes sharing their opinion to help other people make good decisions for products and services, I highly recommend trying out American Consumer Opinion!

    1. Yeah the payment level seems fine Dave, I don’t really know about the amount of work they have there though…hopefully enough to go around!

  3. Great post and good info.

Even if it not a scam, I will stay away from it, the reason is simple.

You heard about Clixsense and other platforms probably, they pay you a small amount which isn’t good enough to reach 20 bucks a month.

Comes also that you give away privacy details since you are filling in opinions and surveys.

So that is for me the reason to stay away from it.

    Anyway, thanks for sharing it!

    1. Hi Emmanuel,

Yes I certainly have heard of Clixsense, but I don’t agree with your opinion on them. When I first came online to earn I made good money with them, they actually paid for my marketing education!

I’m still a member there today.
