ibotta App Download - ibotta Review

I’ve been racking my brain all morning, trying to figure out the last time I came across an app that was a useful ‘earn online’ tool…

It’s been a pretty long time!

A few weeks back a colleague of mine in the States directed me to something called the ibotta app download. He believed it to be the best ‘make money app’ on the market today!

I have to admit I was pretty excited and couldn’t wait to give it a go – this colleague is not often impressed that easily!

So I trundled on over to ibotta.com to check out this awesome new earning app…

…only to find out it ONLY WORKS IN THE STATES!!!!!

Not happy, not happy at all!

My colleague apologized for filling me with false hope but I still wanted a review to publish on this site. After a little bit of arm twisting I managed to get him to write a review that I could publish on this site…

So what is ibotta?

ibotta is a trendy little app that allows you to earn money every time you go shopping for groceries or buy movie tickets. On top of that – it’s completely FREE!

ibotta Receipts – Grocery Shopping!

Let’s take a quick look at how you can earn cash through using ibotta with grocery shopping…

  1. Picking Products – The whole process starts by you opening up your app and skimming through the stores ibotta is linked to. Pick the products you are looking to buy that day and add them to your list. You will then be handed a series of mini-tasks that are related to your chosen products. The more of these set tasks you get through the more money you will receive when you purchase the product
  2. Get Your Wallet Out – Once you have completed all the available tasks ( remember the more tasks you complete the bigger the reward! ) your offers will be added to your Pending list. You then take a brisk walk ( or drive ) down to one of the participating ibotta shops and purchase the items on your list
  3. Proof of Purchase – Your next step is to prove to ibotta that you are not a cheat! This can be done through simply scanning/photoing the receipt and using your loyalty card
  4. Collect The Cash – It usually takes them about a day to log up all the confirmations and send the cash into your account. You then have the option of a tidy little Paypal payment or a selection of gift cards ( I would go with the Paypal route but that’s up to you! )
  5. Spend The Cash – Make your own mind up here 🙂

ibotta Rewards – Payment

If you choose to go down the Paypal route you must have at least $5 in your account to cash out. You don’t have to wait for a specific time or day.

ibotta Does it Work?

Yep it works like a dream and I have had no problems whatsoever with it so far ( at the time of writing this I have been using it for 4 months! ).

I love companies that pay you for things that you already do every single month. You already know you’re going to eat – so why not get rewarded for it?

I’ve never been much of a coupon addict – I always thought that they were geared towards the older generations and bored housewives! The ibotta system is super-easy to use and only takes about 5 minutes to get your rebates sent off after shopping.

You don’t have to freak out and get things moving as soon as you get home either. You are allowed up to seven days to send in your proof of purchases.

The ibotta App Download

This app is a legitimate and FREE way to get paid for what you were going to do anyway. A simple Google search online will bring up hundreds of positive reviews and media coverage – it’s the real deal!

  1. Thanks for sharing this. Tell me, are the rewards actually worth it? How much cash back can you get?
I am always looking at ways to earn extra money online, the problem is most of the time it is a scam or complete time wasting experience. Thank you for sharing something that actually works.

    1. Well Lynne, the rewards are pretty much up and down as with many of these opportunities at the moment. I know of people that do really well out of the system but they use it religiously. It’s all about how much effort you are willing to put in at the end of the day 🙂

  2. This is really cleverly executed. Well done. Even I did not expect to see the WA website published on the “Here” lead.

It can be really disappointing to see that something that get;s u excited is only to be operational in the US, but I have learned to dismiss same as one of the shiny objects and to concentrate on the job at hand.

An excellent and informative and concise blog.

    Kind regards,

    Mary Somers

    1. Hi Mary!
Well thanks for stopping by, can I ask, are you a WA student yourself? ( because it sounds as if you are! ).
If so I hope all your marketing studies are going alright? Don’t forget to pop back here and contact me if you get stuck with anything 🙂
      Great speaking with you.

  3. Chris,
Great article! I’ve never heard about ibotta, but it sounds like a really cool little app. What exactly are the tasks that you need to do in order to get rewards? I truly have no idea what ibotta is so I apologize in advance for my ignorance, but how much money can you get back on your shopping? For example, if I spend $100 how much can I possibly get back? Thank you!

    1. Hi Katie,

Well every offer differs greatly so it’s really hard to zone in on one amount. It’s best to get on over there and check what’s available yourself! 🙂

  4. Sounds interesting but there are so many cash back and rebate programs out there its really tough to choose. Also, I’m in Canada so this wouldn’t work for me either.

I used Dubli Cash backs for online shopping for awhile but found it too intrusive and it didn’t work well when physically going into a store which I like to do with most products I purchase…I see eBates now is big on TV – advertising anyway.

I’m sure there’s people who use coupons and cash back programs regularly and save or get back lots of money – it’s just something I can’t seem to get into for any length of time. And now every debit or credit card has some type of points rewards. Maybe combining those point rewards with a cash back program might be a doubly rewarding idea?

  5. Hey Chris.
Woww! iBotta looks pretty cool and i’ve always wanted to try out apps like this but never had the confidence until I come across your review.

It looks pretty cool an I would definitely love to have a go at it, especially since I do most of the grocery shopping myself. Is it applicable in Malaysia?
