Most of you will be fully aware by now that I’m a product of a marketing education platform known as the Wealthy Affiliate – I bang on about them often enough!
But they are not the only trustworthy internet marketing school out there – you have to look hard…but there are others!
One of those platforms is called HubSpot – they are not my first choice (obviously) but they have helped out hundreds of thousands of newbie marketers over the years.
Why am I flapping my wings about HubSpot today?
Well, I was researching a few pointers for an article on how to optimize your site for search engines and I stumbled upon a sort of three-video-setup covering the same subject…by HubSpot!
I’ll be honest with you here – I have no real problem with ‘borrowing’ other’s marketing tutorials…as long as they are top quality.
Well most of the info HubSpot puts out there is indeed top quality and these three videos sort of cover my article…without me having to write a 3000 word article! 🙂

Ah the dreaded SEO – so many gurus and marketers bang on about it…but 99% of them are generally full of sh#t (and struggle to get more than 1000 visitors to their website a day…regardless of what they tell you!).

I actually found this video the best one out of the lot – extremely well put together and covering all the important topics in a newbie-friendly way.
Search engines take numerous factors into account when their ‘spiders’ are attempting to understand your website setup.
One of the most important of these factors is the use of keywords in your content – this is a part of what’s called on-page SEO – optimizing the pages of your site.
Keywords are nothing more than search queries that are typed in Google’s (or any other search engine’s) search bar. They are simply the topics that searchers are trying to learn more about…

What Does an Optimized Page Look Like?
This final video in the series takes a look at a company named AnswerDash in an attempt to show you what a correctly optimized web page looks like.
To quote HubSpot (or rather ‘borrow’ yet again!):
“By creating an optimized website, they saw a: 60% increase in monthly leads, 55% increase in social media traffic, and a 10% increase in website traffic. All within the first 2 months”
That’s pretty powerful SEO right there! Take a closer look at the outcome below…
SEO is the simple process of ensuring a website can be found in search engines for words and phrases relevant to what the site is offering. It’s a VERY important part of attracting visitors to your online content.
Please try to remember that there is a wrong way and a right way to approach SEO…and it’s really not all that hard once you’ve learned the correct methods.
Thousands of so-called marketing gurus will attempt to blind you with science and confuse you into thinking it’s a ninja art…well it’s not!
