Domainer Elite – Domain Name Flipping Business

Domainer Elite - Domain Name Flipping Business

Almost immediately after I finished my internet marketing training I got out there and started purchasing ‘powerful’ domain names.

I had it in my head that I should be running at least ten websites at one time – the more that are running the more money I would make right?

Well, I found out the hard way that this was not necessarily the correct path to take…and I was lumbered with several domain names I’d paid for, and I didn’t really know what to do with them!

This brings us nicely to the subject and product we will be covering today – Domainer Elite.

The new opportunity is set up to help you build up your very own domain name flipping business.

It’s a nice, fresh idea for a earn online product and I was looking forward to testing it out.

Let’s take a closer look at it…

Make Money Flipping Domains

So what is this flipping domain business – how do you make money out of it?

Well the right domain name can go for A LOT of money when put in front of the correct audience.

You basically go out and hunt down all of the domain names you feel will be useful to marketers in the future. If they are free – you buy them up!

You then attempt to sell the domain names at a higher price than you bought them for.

Several years ago domain flipping was BIG business but not so many people take it on these days…

Could there be a gap in the market for both you and I?

On The Sell

Unfortunately, my first impressions of Domainer Elite were not great – they have opted to go for one of these tacky landing pages that prefer to supply sales instead of information!

It had everything – big, bold promises of wealth and even one of those dodgy countdown timers…

“Quick, quick – buy this product because it’s being taken off the shelf pronto!”

Of course this is not the case – why would they limit the sales of a product they are trying to sell?

Simply refresh the screen and you will see the timer reset itself – a VERY old marketing trick these days!

Make Money Flipping Domains

There was also a video embedded into the landing page which covered the product’s owner, Jamie Lewis, taking a lie detector test!

Now I’ve been around the marketing block a few times now but this is the first time I’ve encountered this!

It looks like a legit video but lets be honest here – this is the internet and anything can happen!

Inside The Box

The product itself is listed at $19.95 which is very reasonable…until you hit the upsells a couple of pages later!

  • Domainer Elite Software License $97 – Software to help automate the process
  • Domainer Elite VIP Webinar Coaching $67 – In webinar Format
  • Hire One of My Expert Assistants $297 –  Help from a virtual assistant for 5 listings

I can’t ever remember taking an upsell on as they never really add any wealth to the overall product. They are clever, granted, but they are never necessary!

So the main product, without the upsells, is access to the Domainer Elite website’s member’s area where you will be confronted by 12 initial videos.

These videos are actually training videos which each last for approximately 20 minutes or so.

I have to be honest here – Jamie does a pretty good job in each of these video tutorials.

The subjects are a little testing at times but he is clear and concise with his training methods – I actually learned quite a lot!

He runs through the methods of buying a domain, finding expired domain names and shifting domain names on Flippa – all decent training!

Domainer Elite Content

I was slightly turned off by the amount of links he includes within certain parts of the members area – these are all affiliate links aimed towards him!

The links are not useless – but don’t be put off by the hype ( you don’t need to purchase anything else to succeed with this! ).

To top the product off Jamie has included a set of downloads that include a guide to potential domain pricing and a huge word and noun list group to help you track down elusive domains.

He even offers a sort of template for writing out the blurb to go with your domains offered on Flippa.

I have to be honest here – I quite like this product and I feel it has more than enough information contained in it for the low asking price!

Some of the video tutorials may be a little scrappy but they still manage to deliver knowledge to the watcher in a newbie-friendly fashion.

Creating a domain name flipping business is nowhere near as simple as it seems.

I have tried to sell my own unwanted domains in the past and have had no luck whatsoever ( they just faded out and I didn’t re-register them in the end! ).

A product like this had a lot to offer me – it’s a subject I’ve been interested in for quite some time now and it has managed to fill in a few gaps.

It’s certainly NOT a scam – Jamie Lewis has managed to put together an effective package that has a lot to offer newcomers to the subject.

For the price – you’d be stupid to ignore it really!

Chances are if you’re on this blog, you’re looking for income you can sustain for the long haul. If this is the case, check out our #1 recommendation HERE

  1. Hi Chris,

I was thinking about doing something similar and even joined sites such as Sedo and others where it is said that you can get as much as $500 for a domain name.

I don’t like the upsells for the product, I’ve had too many negative experiences with scams.

How many domains have you been able to flip? And is it a sustainable way to make money in the long term?

    Thanks for the review.

  3. hi, Chris.
Your review about Domainer Elite is honest and clearly points out the cons and the pros of the site.
But it seems that flipping websites names, and getting some money out of it, is not a big business, as it was in the past. Anyhow it worth a try especially its registration fees is not expensive.
You pointed out that there are some training videos, it is, of course, a plus.
Keep up your good works, good luck

  4. Hi Chris.
For this to work, I think, one would have to really zero in on the target audience. Even finding them and approaching them with an offer to sell.
One instance comes to mind where someone I know paid $4600+ for a targeted domain in travel/ accommodation/ lodging in a big resort town. The price was justified by the amount of traffic that domain was getting, and the fact that he was in direct competition for that traffic previously.
As you can see from the example above, this is narrowing the niche to the extreme. Also, a lot of work went into getting that domain profitable in the first place. It’s almost like PLR with the domain attached.

Still, something to keep in mind. Always like to see the options.
    Thanks for the info. Kirk.

    1. I agree with you there Kirk – it’s (zero in on the target audience) probably one of the ONLY ways to make a successful gig out of flipping domains (I like the example you gave as well – thanks for that!) 🙂

  5. Hey Chris, I haven’t heard much about domain selling, though I’ve seen them for sell on GoDaddy. So what kind of income realisticy can you make selling domains? You refer to Wealthy Affiliate at the end of your article, is this a better option or just another way you recommend to make supplemental income?

    1. Domains can go for thousands of pounds/dollars Scott – it all depends how rare and diverse it is (and it’s length in many circumstances!). WA is a great community to learn how to build an online business – it actually offers a free membership as well!

  6. Sounds like a good course, but I have in the past bought other older products from Jamie Lewis and have not been impressed.

Hopefully, he has improved since back then and this one looks like it can be quite useful if you are into domain flipping. I have never tried it because I didn’t know where to start for one, and time constraints also prevent one doing a lot.

    1. Yeah a lot of people sit on the fence with this Jamie Lewis character Michel – I never quite know what to think of him?

  7. Great review! Thank you for all the info. I’m not sure that a business like this is good for me but I think I will look into it some more. If there are opportunities there then I just might take them! It’s good that you actually went through and tried out the site to allow others to see if it was a scam or not and I and I’m sure a lot of others really appreciate that

    1. Well that’s what we do here Hailey – we get to the guts of the opportunity and tell people how it is (warts n’ all!).

Cheers for stopping by and pitching in! 🙂
