MySoapBox Review – Is MySoapBox a Scam?

MySoapBox Review - Is MySoapBox a Scam?

When I first ventured online to make a bit of ‘green stuff’ I really liked the idea of filling out surveys for money.

I mean who wouldn’t right?

Basically ticking a few boxes with any old answer and getting paid for it – child’s play!

But online surveys are never what they seem – more often than not you find yourself sitting in front of one for at least half an hour…

…and ending up with a $0.75 reward!

Yeah I know – it sucks! But some people have no option, they need money and they need money quick!

Just recently I came across a new kid on the survey block – MySoapBox.

So, what is MySoapBox about? is MySoapBox a scam? Let’s take a closer look at this opportunity…

The MySoapBox Review

Okay, let’s start with the first question – what is MySoapBox about?

As I alluded to above – MySoapBox is yet another site that pays it’s members for pimping out their opinion.

The surveys are put on offer by various companies around the world looking for opinions on their products and services.

Unlike most online reward/survey sites, MySoapBox is part of something called the Interviewing Service of America.

Sounds pretty impressive right?

Well it is – this lot don’t just accept any old Tom, Dick and Harry into their fold!

It basically means that MySoapBox is a pretty big player, well respected in survey circles and has been around for quite some time (which I was surprised about!).

The Money Process

Yet again we seem to have a survey site that zeros in on ‘rewards’ instead of ‘cash’.

This, in my book, this is a right pain in the ass!

Out goes the dollar bill and in comes the legendary MySoapBox points. In other words – a subtle way to pay you less for each survey you complete.

what is MySoapBox about?

When you manage to tot up enough of this false currency you can then switch it over for some kind of reward card (bypassing the dollar bill once again!).

The Gift Cards

Here is a list of the gift card options available to you once you have worked your butt off to collect enough MySoapBox points:

  • Amazon gift cards
  • Restaurant gift cards
  • Retail e-vouchers
  • Tango gift cards
  • Home Depot gift cards
  • iTunes gift cards
  • Starbucks gift cards
  • Wal-Mart gift cards
  • Various other cards which I had no real interest in…

If you consider yourself a bit of a saint you can also choose to convert you points into a gift for charity – I doubt this happens that often (pretty sad really!).

It’s important to point out that each 1000 points is equal to $1.00. 25000 points ($25.00) is the minimum balance needed to request pay-out.

Is MySoapBox a Scam?

Even the online opportunities that sit at the top of the legit tree get a few disgruntled members from time to time.

Here are a few of the complaints I came across online regarding this particular website…

Demographics: Yep, good old demographics, where would a survey site be without them?

When you first log into MySoapBox it may well seem as though you have a mountain of surveys to choose from…but this is rarely the case!

Out of every 10 surveys you try I can guarantee you will be kicked out of at least five due to good old demographics!

This severely limits the amount of cash you can make on this site, and any other survey site for that matter!

Reaching The Goal: Surveys don’t exactly pay well, and this can become a right pain in the ass when you are trying to reach your cashout/reward level.

I noticed that most of the surveys on this site pay about 750 points – which is about $0.75 overall.

When you factor in the approximate 30 minutes ‘sitting time’ for each survey, it’s gonna take forever to reach each paycheck!

Getting Kicked Out: Oh I used to HATE this, but it happens with EVERY survey provider!

You are about 10 minutes into your survey and you have been putting in a decent effort to answer truthfully…but all of a sudden you are kicked out of the survey!

Man that’s irritating stuff!

It’s not MySoapBox’s fault – it’s the companies that act as the survey provider.

But it still makes you want to throw your laptop at a wall and scream!

There is actually a $0.01 reward if you get kicked out of a survey early but let’s be honest here – that ain’t gonna cut it at the end of the day!

It’s All Gone a Little Fiddly: For some reason the surveys on MySoapBox require a bit of technical fiddling before you are safe to take them on.

This doesn’t happen with all surveys – but it’s best to be straight before you start out right?

I don’t know about you but I’m not that keen on fussing about with my antivirus and clearing cookies for no apparent reason.

Seems a little bit over-the-top for the simple process of taking part in a survey.

This opportunity is without a doubt a ‘safe’ option to take on – they wouldn’t be part of the Interviewing Service of America otherwise, right?

The main question you have to ask yourself is how much money you are looking to make online?

To be honest, survey sites like this are best geared to people looking to make a little extra ‘pocket money’ instead of a second wage.

I do know of many people that take these surveys for a living but can you imagine how irritating AND boring that must be?

I couldn’t do that, day after day!
