Does Survey Junkie Really Work?

Does Survey Junkie Really Work?

When I first came online to (try) and make my millions I was totally f##king clueless as to which way to go. I believed EVERY advert promising riches as I had no idea what online scams were!

It wasn’t long before I stumbled across surveys and the riches they promised for a simple opinion – sounds like an awesome way to get rich right?

Well it wasn’t!

Most survey sites are fine…and that’s about it!

You can make legit money off them and you can earn by simply giving an opinion…but the rate of pay is usually terrible.

So, does Survey Junkie really work or is it yet another low paying online opportunity?

Let’s take a closer look…

The Survey Junkie Review

Survey Junkie hit the internet streets in Oct 6, 2005 and now advertises the fact that they have over 4 million members/users.

Signing up is pretty simple and you won’t be confronted by anything more than a simple profile requesting personal information etc. (you know the drill by now right?).

They need all this personal info so they can match you up with companies that need you to answer surveys.

Survey Junkie Review

Unfortunately this is yet another survey site that opts to pay it’s members in funny money…or ‘points’ in this case.

These points can then be exchanged for e-gift cards or Paypal money – whichever way you look at it you’re probably losing out!

The setup is that 1000 points is equivalent to $10.00 and you get about 200 points (or less) a survey (which can take anywhere from 5 to 25 minutes to complete).

It’s a totally free site to join but you must be at least 18 years old and live in the US, Canada, or Australia.

Does Survey Junkie Really Pay?

In most cases yes…but there have been more than a few complaints over the years regarding the way the website is set up and how it does business.

First off, the actual Survey Junkie website does not own the rights to any surveys – they basically act as a middle man to the more popular survey sites.

But that’s not bad right? As long as you end up taking the surveys, who cares?

Well I’m afraid that is a bit of a pain in the ass.

You see, these other survey providers will end up with your email address…and that’s NEVER a good thing.

Before you know it you will be scraped daily and sent all manner of spam crap that you are not interested in. I’m afraid survey sites are well known for this type of spam action.

Does Survey Junkie Really Pay?

Secondly, the survey providers that Survey Junkie link to don’t seem to be that popular. Simply put – they dry up on surveys pretty fast.

Even if you are willing to sit through days on end of mind-numbing survey questions you may well end up with no work to complete!

Apparently it’s all down to demographics but I have to be honest – I think that’s a crock of sh#t!

Survey sites have been using this excuse for years and we all know it’s for scalping a few answers before kicking you out of a survey.

Is Survey Junkie a Scam?

Well, I have come across numerous complaints about people logging in only to find out that their account has disappeared. It never seems to happen to members that have no points in their account mind…

We should really take this with a pinch of salt – how many of these disappearing accounts belonged to members who were trying to game the system?

Guess we’ll never know.

What I’m trying to say is that ALL work online sites have their glitches and ALL of them also have problems from time to time.

I used the site without any sort of problem at all but I did not get to the point where I could cash out. I’m not a fan of completing surveys for cash and I wasn’t going to sit there until I reached the cash out total (not even for this review!).

I mean, you have to ask yourself what you are looking for online – how much money are you looking to make at the end of the day?

We all want to give up our day jobs and work from home full time but there are no simple routes for this in the internet world (sad but true I’m afraid).

  1. WOw!…very interesting review.
This system is similar to Neobux and others ptc networks.
I was trying the metho before, and when I had good money on my account…Pufff!…it just desappeared!
That’s why I never believe again in that method.
but, Survey is not like that with you…
Btw, I like so much Wealthy Affiliate and I think is the best way online. 🙂
Thank you for the post Chris!

    1. Okay Carlos why are you comparing this to Neobux – I’ve actually been a member there for years and earned good money from it? Besides, Neobux is not really a survey site! Anyway – I think you may have mixed up my views a bit 🙂

  2. Great review on Survey Junkie. I was waiting for you to come out and say it is a scam, but you didn’t. My personal opinion varies a little bit. I think any time you have to work that hard to make a paltry amount of money…spending days doing surveys…seems scammy to me. I was with them for a while and it was frustrating at best. You could get half way or all the way through a survey, to then be told they didn’t need your input…

    1. Well they do pay…so I can’t call them an outright scam I’m afraid. A scam is exactly that – it ‘scams’ you out of your money! This is just a lousy way to earn online – nothing more!

  3. Hey, there man

I really like your article here. As a personal experience, I tried some similar websites. Not this particular one. Well, the truth is that the ads did not really help me complete any surveys. So, I may indicate these ones as scams.

Anyway, thank you for sharing this great piece of information. I wish you all the best!

    1. Okay John – I wish you all the best yourself. A lot of people consider survey based sites as scam sites – I’m pretty much on the fence with them most of the time (depending on what site I’m reviewing obviously!)

  4. There seem to be so many survey sites out there. They seem to be everywhere and all have the same basic MO. It seems like a way to spend your time if you don’t have anything else to do, but not something I would spend a lot of time doing.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this site. I’d never heard of them before today.

  5. Yeah they all stick to the same layout…most of the time! Make small amounts of cash but don’t expect early retirement 🙂
